Stop 04 — Amalfi Coast, Italy
The Citrus Coast
Final stop: the Amalfi Coast.
The last stop, and the brightest. A road cut into the cliff, terraces of lemons held up on chestnut poles, and villages stacked above deep blue water.
Why this stop exists
“The south was always the reward at the end of a long line. Windows down, salt in the air, and citrus so present you could taste it before you saw a single tree.”
Raquel Misis, founder

Morning
Peel and green leaf
The terraces are cool for one hour only. Fruit still cold from the night, leaves snapping when you brush past, and the sharp lift of citrus oil on your hands for the rest of the day.

Midday
Shade, tile, water
Inside the town the temperature drops. Wet tile, potted figs, a tiled dome above the rooftops, and the sound of water somewhere out of sight.

Evening
The cliff lets go of the heat
Neroli and jasmine wait for the sun to leave. Then they arrive all at once, white and heavy, mixed with warm stone and salt off the water.
From place to fragrance
How this destination became a scent
Coastal citrus is oilier and greener than fruit in a bowl. What you smell on the terraces is peel oil and leaf, sharpened by sea air — so the fragrance keeps the leaf, not just the juice.
Late morning, the road still in shade, the sea already bright.
